I vetri di Francesco Musante
Mi sono innamorato del vetro di Murano, mi ha affascinato la sua gelida trasparenza ed il suo rovente colore, la sensualità del tatto, la magica trasparenza e anche la sua fragilità che lo rende ancora più prezioso.
Sono rimasto stupito dal veder nascere le mie immagini da un crogiolo di magma rovente, è fantastico vedere come, con strumenti antichi ed antiquati, il maestro vetraio riesce a dar forma alla massa infuocata.
Ho trovato nella freddezza del vetro il calore dei miei dipinti.
Le mie sculture nascono con la collaborazione del maestro vetraio Walter Furlan di Murano, un artista che da sessanta anni lavora il vetro e che, con la sua bravura, ha dato forma alle mie idee.
La prima volta che sono entrato in vetreria sono rimasto affascinato dall’ambiente e dalla lavorazione, i forni che sputavano fuoco, i crogiuoli incandescenti, il vetro, tirato fuori su aste di ferro, quasi liquido, vedevo lavorare il vetro e con la fantasia creavo oggetti e sculture, tornato in studio ho cominciato a disegnare, poi sono tornato a Murano con i progetti e li ho fatti vedere al maestro vetraio, non ero sicuro della loro possibile realizzazione, ma Walter mi ha detto:
“Francesco con il vetro si può fare tutto, basta fare quello che vuole il vetro.”
E così sono nati i miei vetri, credo di essere riuscito a trasportare i personaggi e gli oggetti che frequentano i miei dipinti in una, per me, nuova dimensione, quella della scultura.
I miei vetri sono interamente eseguiti nella “Vetreria F” di Murano.

Glasses by Francesco Musante
I fell in love with the Murano's Glass, it charmed me with its icy transparency and its burning colour, the sensuality of the touch, the magic transparency but also its fragility which makes it even more precious.
I remained astonished by seeing my images to be born from a pot full of red & hot magma, it's incredible to see how, with ancient and antiques tools, the Glass Master gives shape to a burning mass.
I have found in the coldness of the glass, the warmth of my paintings.
My sculptures were created with the co-operation of the Glass Master Walter Furlan from Murano, an Artist who works the glass since sixty years and who, with his cleverness, has given a form to my ideas.
The first time I come into a glass-factory I remained completely charmed by the ambience and by the work itself, ovens were splitting fire, burning pots, the almost liquid glass worked, in an out the ovens, through iron-bars. I was seeing how they were working and with my fantasy I was already creating objects and sculptures.
Back to my studio I immediately started to draw, but when I returned in Murano with my projects, showing them to the Glass Master, I wasn't sure about the possibility to realise them, but Walter told me:
"Francesco, with the glass you can do anything the glass wants"
So my glasses are born, I really believe I was able to transport the personalities and the object of my paintings in this new dimension: the sculpture.
My Glasses are completely made in "Vetreria F" in Murano (Venezia).
